Foundation

The Rice Community Healthcare Foundation's mission is to provide the opportunity for private gift support to health care and to enhance the provision of medical services in Rice County. The Foundation will provide the channels through which donors may share their philanthropic objectives, such as annual gift programs, special projects, endowments, and planned gifts. Donations to the Foundation have funded activities such as new heart monitors for the hospital, nursing scholarships for students wanting to go to school, new patient room equipment, as well as providing $25,000 dollars to the Sterling Fitness Center. The Foundation hosts a golf tournament each year with this years being the ninth annual. Support for the golf tournament comes from corporate as well as individual sponsors each year. The golf tournament raises about $15,000 each year to go towards additional services to be provided by non-profit agencies in Rice County. This lone activity is the major fundraiser for the Foundation each year. Activities of the foundation shall include investing and disbursing the funds in its care, and supporting the health care mission of Hospital District #1 of Rice County and other non-profit health care agencies in the area served by the hospital. The Rice Community Healthcare Foundation is a separate, non-profit organization not involved in the administration of any health care agency in Rice County. In all its policies and operation, the Foundation is guided by the greater good of the community and its paramount concern for quality health care.
